The National Identity Management
Commission (NIMC) said its enrolment figures as at December 31, 2023 currently
stood at over 104.16million ‘unique records’. This translates to
As usual, Lagos State continued
to take the lead with the highest cumulative enrolment figure of over 11.4
million.
According to the data uploaded at
NIMC’s enrolment dashboard on its website yesterday, a total of 104, 163,072
million National Identity Numbers (NINs) were issued with its distribution by
gender showing that male recorded 59,120,900 representing 56.8per cent while
female had 45,942,172 representing 43.20per cent of the total figure.
Regional figures indicated an
almost equal distribution across the Northern and Southern parts of the country.
According to the dashboard, the Top
10 States for NIN Enrolment as at 31 December 2023 include Lagos with 5,198,597
female, 6,229,228 male and
total figure of 11,427,825; Kano with 3,896,951 female, 5,299,689 male and total
number of 9,196,640 enrollees.
Kaduna followed with 2,898,887 female, 3,552,194 male and 6,451,081total
figure while Ogun trailed it 2,115,429 female, 2,289,463 male and 4,404,892
total figures.
Oyo recorded 1,934,505female and2,108,092
male bringing total figures to4,042,597; Katsina had 1,439,115 female and 2,106,973 male and total figure of 3,546,088;
FCT Abuja recorded 1,462,345female and 2,052,389 male and total figure of 3,514,734;
Rivers had 1,413,673female, 1,724,994 male and 3,138,667 total figure; Delta had1,310,378
female,1,485,444 male and 2,795,822 total; while Bauchi had 981,490
male, 1,779,666 female and total of 2,761,156 enrolments.
According to NIMC, the bottom 10 states
for NIN enrolment as at 31 December 2023 are Kwara, Akwa-Ibom, Kogi, Enugu, Yobe,
Taraba, Cross-River, Ekiti, Ebonyi and Bayelsa states.
