‘Cyber security breach erodes trust’

Cyber security breach is capable of eroding trust in the platforms of African tech start-ups if not addressed, a tech firm, Patricia Technologies, said yesterday.

Speaking on the arrest of the suspects behind the security breach at tech firm’s cryptocurrency, its CEO, Seun Dania, therefore commended the successful efforts of the Nigerian Police Force in apprehending the perpetrators.

He said the significance of the development is its capacity in restoring trust not only in Patricia Technologies but also in the African startup ecosystem at large, adding that the apprehension of criminals by the police is a crucial step in dispelling concerns of funds mismanagement and in reaffirming the integrity of the platform.

While expressing support for Patricia Technologies, he said such incidents, though challenging, test the resilience and potential of startups and reiterated his commitment to invest in Patricia, not just financially but also in aiding them to rebuild a more resilient and secure platform.
