A group, White Witches and Wizards Association of Nigeria, has warned that the off-cycle elections scheduled for Saturday in Imo, Bayelsa and Kogi states will be marred by violence and bloodbath if the security agencies fail to take proactive measures.

Arising from a meeting in Benin, Edo State capital, the group’s spokesman, Dr Okhue Iboi, said the signs are too ominous to ignore because of humanity.

He said: “During our pre-election meeting in Benin, we saw blood, violence and panic in the states where elections are scheduled to be held.

“The governors of these three states are determined to continue by either getting a second term or ensuring that their anointed candidate wins at all cost. We see big troubles in Kogi and Imo. We also saw flashes of mayhem in Bayelsa but we saw monumental violence in Kogi and Imo.

“We also saw politicians arm-twisting the people to get votes; we also saw them losing their offices at the election tribunal.

“There will be intense battles in Kogi and Imo. We do not see serious battles in Bayelsa. APC will try to rig the election in its favour. If it succeeds, the court will invalidate the result,” Dr Iboi warned.

On the Supreme Court judgment affirming the election of President Bola Tinubu, the judgement aligned with the judgment delivered at the coven. “We the witches constituted our panel to examine the merits and demerits of the appeal filed by Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi of the People’s Democratic Party (PD) and Labour Party (LP) respectively against President Tinubu. The case was empty because they did not present alternative results different from the one presented by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

“Atiku went to the US to fish. He thought his fishing net would cash a giant fish but he ended up with a fingerling that could not help his case.

“We have told them to close ranks and work with President Tinubu to salvage the economy; bitterness will not help them,” he said.

He said Tinubu is the long awaited messiah to salvage the country. “Things may appear very difficult now. Yes, there’s hunger in the land. People are not happy but what we see in the coven is hope and light at the end of the tunnel. That is why we the witches have remained steadfast in supporting him.  You will notice a change for the better in the economy before Easter next year,” Dr Iboi said.

On the proposed luxury cars for lawmakers, he said the witches are in their support. “What we see in the coven is different from what people see in the terrestrial plane. Let’s give unto Caesar what belongs to him. The lawmakers are prepared to work for the good of the country. So we urge Nigerians to let them have the cars. But as for the ministers, some will leave the cabinet very soon because they will not be able to meet the key performance indicators (KPIs) put into place by the president,” he said.

Dr Iboi decried the spate of attacks on the judiciary. “The judiciary is the last hope of the common man in the terrestrial world. Using derogatory words to run down our judges is not the best. We expose our country into ridicule through the disparaging comments about our judiciary. It is a very disturbing development and disgraceful,” he said.
